InstaUpdate : January 2014
It's time for an InstaUpdate now that January has quickly passed. This InstaUpdate contains images that were posted on my Instagram during the month of January! I love that app. Like a lot. It's a great way to connect with friends and creative entrepreneurs and is a wonderful way to find new businesses or brands. It can be a great source of inspiration too! I have even gotten a few inquiries from it. It's crazy.
I began my year visiting a friend who works at Denton Camera Exchange. They have new and used equipment, antique cameras, lenses, camera bags, vinyl records, and restored vintage furniture, but mostly old cameras and film! Lots of film! Even some film for Polaroids! From the hobbyists to the professionals, they have a bunch of goodies that photographers of all aspects would enjoy.
With a fresh bag in hand, I was ready to take on my first wedding of the year...which was held at the Rangers Stadium in Arlington, TX!
I rearranged my office, bought new curtains, and finally put everything in what feels is it's 'right place'...for now. The book on the left is an inspiring book by photographer Elizabeth Messina.
I created a small display with a few of my Instax from outings with friends, vacation, holidays, etc. My times with friends is usually captured with my Instax camera. Something about each little picture being a single treasure/moment, not easily replicated. And of course Ashley the fluffy cat is doing well.
Lunch breaks with friends and Sunday, football watchin', pot luckin' times.
Plenty of backyard fires to warm the cold Texas nights.
I travel this bridge to see my "second" family.
I styled a beautiful shoot with some talented vendor friends of mine: R Love Floral Designs, Tracy Melton Artistry, Layered Bake Shop, Rent My Dust, Bees Knees Custom Designs, and Ashley Brannon at Hickory Street Annex. I got to take home a beautiful bouquet and a box of macarons...props from the shoot. :)
I celebrated my darling Philip's golden birthday! He turned 27th on the 27th! We originally wanted to go to the rodeo, but...that was sold out. So we went to see Ryan Bingham at Billy Bob's in the Stockyards. We still got our bull riding fix there. But I still wanna see THE rodeo!
Philip and I have been growing broccoli in our backyard since August of 2013...so getting to finally eat this green beauty was simply a joy. We have more to pick as they continue to grow, but I've never seen such a lovelier veggie. The taste was more robust and earthy than store-bought (duh). I never knew that broccoli had such a long stalk with large leaves, which I have found are edible.
Anyways...it was a peaceful month. I went back to the gym again and getting back into my overall groove since the holidays. Looking forward to what February brings! Philip and I will be celebrating our 3rd year of knowing each other, so I'm looking forward to that. I like him. :)
