Bridals in McKinney, TX: Ashley.
This past Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Ashley and Matt's wedding, which means I get to finally post her bridal pictures that we took months in advance! We did the session at one of my favorite venues ever, The Cotton Mill in McKinney, TX.
I love doing bridal sessions for many reasons other than the opportunity of photographing a beautiful woman in her stunning dress. One simple reason is that the bride gets to wear her dream dress more than once! I also like to think that a bridal session can act as a 'trial run' for the bride. She can see how she feels and moves in the dress. Who knows, maybe she may need to make possible changes and alterations. Make sure that when you are trying on dresses to actually move around as you would on your big day…make sure you sit down, dance with your arms up and see if you can squat down to take a picture with your tiny flower girl/ring bearer. Overall, make sure you are comfortable!
I've done bridal sessions in the past where the bride opted to wear her hair differently at the session than at her wedding day to mix things up. You get the best of both worlds that way.
I also love doing bridal sessions because that means on the actual wedding day we don't have to spend as much time to do 'bridals' as we would if we didn't do the session…and sometimes you just don't have enough time to take as many creative bridals on the big day. I feel that people often don't realize how fast time flies, especially on the wedding day. Taking creative, stunning pictures with good lighting, requires time to figure out where to photograph (because lighting doesn't always work in my favor even if the location is gorgeous). Good photography requires good light, and to find the good light can take time. I hope my tips help.
Enjoy!
Happy Monday!
Cheers,
Stephanie
