Carter Wedding.

Anna-Marie and Daniel met Senior year during their high school musical 'All Shook Up'. In the show, the character that Daniel played has a crush on Anna-Marie's character but in reality, it was the other way around. They were inseparable that year, even their friend's would call them "Danna-Marie" but love didn't begin to blossom until they graduated. She was attracted to his quiet demeanor and his devotion to Christ. "And lets be real, he's a real hunk" says Anna-Marie. He was drawn to her outgoing attitude and faith in Christ as well.Daniel is a songwriter and in one of his songs he writes about a mystery girl who draws pictures with blank faces and a boy who writes songs about this mystery girl. The face is now filled and the mystery is now solved. They are soul mates. It wasn't long before either of them began to realize that they were to marry each other.Daniel proposed with a scavenger hunt taking Anna-Marie to all of their favorite places of memories they have shared together (including a very awkward first kiss in the Walmart parking lot). The hunt ended with Daniel on that very high school stage where they first met. The theme music from the Disney's movie 'Up' was playing in the background and he was there with a ring in his hand. It was indeed a magical moment.Daniel is planning on getting his doctorate to become a professor in philosophy at his dream university. He also plans to write articles and novels with hopes of getting published. Anna-Marie dreams of teaching little kids, theatre kids and continue to make art. They share a "secret dream" to play music together on a cruise ship and maybe co-write and illustrate a children's book. They desire to sail the world and have plenty of adventures, and serve a lot of people before they return home to have a few children of their own to love on for the rest of their lives.I love this couple. I love their story. I was honored to document their special day.

Anna-Marie painted the bottoms of her bridesmaids shoes to give as gifts to her girls. Check out her etsy store here!

Her mother was also her Matron of Honor!

They did a "First Look". The first look is when the bride and groom opt to see each other before the actual ceremony.

Sir Earl Tune from Kool and the Gang helped get things started.

This wedding is a huge DIY wedding! I wanted to share some of the information Anna-Marie sent me about their wedding. It's quite interesting to learn how they put it all together. I love all of the personal touches of this wedding.

They adore the movie and story behind 'Up', and can relate to the relationship that Carl and Ellie had, so they included a lot of 'Up' details. From the balloons, the mailbox, the house to the theme song as she was walking down the aisle. All was homemade.

Anna-Marie is an artist and designed her invitations, and her mother crafted them…all 200+ of them.A list of things her mother slaved over:programsbirdseed packetsflower conesburlap runners, swag, etcpennantssignsarchespictures galoreclothes pinstable numbersphoto boothwedding CDSwell just everything, thats easier : )Most of the decorations were just random, vintage things found in their house. They drank a lot of cream sodas and ate foods to get the bottles and mason jars they decorated with.Dad did all the heavy lifting and building, from the wooden signs to the arch holders to the wedding stage.Food came from Sam's and friends gave their time to prepare the food for the guests, with the help of her brothers who served as waiters and got offered tips! The china was from Craigslist among plenty of other things like the vintage table clothes and linens.Anna-Marie's wedding dress is Pronovias from Brides and Beauxs Boutique in Colleyville, but her mother and grandmother did all the altering. Her reception dress is Alfred Angelo from the Denton Wedding Co.Anna-Marie and her aunt made the veil. The bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen vests came from Ebay!Flowers also came from Sams. Her mother and aunt arranged them. The ceremony venue was an old outdoor theatre called Samuel Lusk, but now it's just part of the Leonard Johns Park. Reception was held in the gym at Faith Lutheran Church.Lights, music and sound was planned by Daniel and carried out by a good friend.Overall their wedding total was under $9000 for about 300+ guests. Which I find to be crazy amazing.
