I embarked on a journey to get to my client’s wedding in Dallas.
but alas, I-35 was pretty much closed due to the icy roads
so I took the train and the bus
with all of my equipment on me

thankfully, I made it
a 2 minute walk from my hotel was this perfect lil’ restaurant
I was comforted with a hot meal

we’ve successfully raised chickens for over a year!

we went to a couple of concerts.
we have a big love for them.
I surprised Philip with tickets to see Alt-J in OK!

I have a BIG love for musicals. I saw Newsies with my sis!

we saw plenty of our friends play local shows as well
like Pearl Earl…

We got to see The Womb gallery in OK
unfortunately they weren’t open, but the outside was just as exciting

always stop for a good scenic lookout

I went to Austin a couple of times

23.2 23.1

one reason was because I had a wedding to shoot

and I needed some pre wedding tacos

another reason was for a dear friend’s glorious wedding

another reason was for Raaven’s first birthday celebración

and for another reason

a dream come true

I attended a workshop hosted by my idol photographer Jonas Peterson

we celebrated my beautiful nana’s 75th birthday

we put a lot of love and energy into our garden

26 27 28 29
we visited many friends

had many feasts together
played instruments

Denton witnessed it’s first legal same-sex marriage
and I was happily there to join the cheers

we celebrated my 26th birthday by going to a lavender farm in Gainesville

and then a dairy farm

my family and I went to Fredericksburg
like we do every year
but this year we took a legit Texas wine tour

and we always hit up the ol’ flea market

I really got into coloring books this year! It’s trending for a good reason
It’s been a really REALLY long time since I’ve last been to a Rangers game
I’m not too much of a sports person (my BF is!)
but I enjoy it every once in a while
our buddy is part of the pyrotechnics team at the stadium
so we went to see their talent
Oh and the Rangers WON!

I flew to California for the first time in my life (well I didn’t fly the plane but ya know)
and I was taken aback by it’s earthly beauty

I adored San Francisco

riding this bridge was a dream come true

seeing the redwoods was another dream come true
42 43

I soaked it all in
44 45 46

this was the real reason why I came to Cali
to photograph this darling couple
I hope to document more elopements in my future

47 48

we found this nice little river behind a bar where I tried Not Your Father’s Root Beer
I got a headache
but boy was it good

for Thanksgiving this year, my family did something different
we went on a cruise and it was my first time
we went to Princess Cays, St Thomas and St Maarten

50 51 52
every year some of the ladies in my family go shopping in the adorable town of Salado
this year some of us discovered this little chapel
and this year my best friend came up from Austin to join
53 54
I’m part of a sisterhood of fellow photographers
and we’ve been going on trips together for 3 years now
this time we wanted to do something closer to home
so we rented a beautiful Airbnb condo
and kept things local

55 56 57
my mom always wanted to see The Trains at Northpark
so that’s one of the Christmasy festivities we did

we decided not to do gifts this year, especially since we went on a big cruise
we wanted to spend more time together and create more memories
and I wouldn’t have it any other way (although I do wish I didn’t have so much to edit!)
my sis and I made Christmas cookies with my grandmommy
we are making this a new Christmas tradition
and here is my darling tree
she’s all the light I’m enjoying right now (when the natural light is done for the day)
