Personally, I have been insanely busy. I’m moving. Moving is SUCH a hassle but I cannot wait to get out of my tiny apartment into my adorable rental house. Three bedroom. Hardwood flooring. A cute little garden area. Oh my. My Pinterest dreams are going to come true. I have a lot of home projects in mind, a lot of painting and ‘upcycling’ to do. I feel like once I make this transition, I’ll be able to breath and live the way I desire to. Since living in my tiny apartment, I have been surrounded in constant construction which isn’t good for my sanity. I had no idea what I was getting into when I originally moved in. I am estastic to be able to have an entire room dedicated to my future office. Plus, I am in walking distance to a coffee shop and Philip and I’s favorite Asian restaurant in Denton! So once I move in, prepare to be bombarded with house pictures and possibly some before and after’s of my projects! EEEEEK! Anyways, enough about my personal update, lets get back to Lyndsey’s lovely bridals!

Let me re-introduce myself. My name is Stephanie Rose. I have been a wedding photographer for about 4 years now. I have a boyfriend, Philip, of 2.5 years and a cat, Ashley, whom I’ve known for EVER. Contrary to popular belief, Rose is indeed my last name. I wear glasses and I have braces. After a long time of photographing many beautiful and confident smiles, I got tired of my “vampire” tooth and wanted to achieve a beautiful pearly white set myself.

My boyfriend, Philip and I enjoy going to see live music, experiencing unique food, thrifting, hula hooping and picnicking on the square in the city we love to reside in Denton, TX.

I have one sister, Amanda. She’s 5 years older than I. Amanda and her husband both live in Waco, so unfortunately we don’t get to see each other too often. Like me, she enjoys musical theatre, singing and dancing.

I recently spent the last 5 years in college at the University of North Texas and graduated in December of 2012. I’m glad the world didn’t end that month because that would really stink to just have graduated for nothing. I really enjoyed my time at college, it definitely helped me grow as a person and helped me figure out my path in life.

Since I’ve graduated, I had found myself thinking to myself A LOT. So many thoughts that needed to be written down, which is another good reason to start my blogging again. It’s wonderful to now finally focus on my photography business, have more time to read on my own terms, as well as some soul searching which has been quite liberating. I now have more time for yoga and exercise and pacify my newfound love for cooking!

As for this blog, it’ll both serve as a way for my fans to be able to view my personal favorites from my most recent photoshoots and weddings as well updates of yours truly. I’ll be sharing thoughts, ideas, and…really who knows. I’m starting this with fresh ideas and hopes.

I also wanted to make you aware of blog postings titled InstaUpdate. InstaUpdate’s are blog posts highlighting some images from my instagram with an explanation what the heck I’ve been up to. If you follow my instagram (@stephanierosephoto) you’ll notice that sometimes I like to tag images that contain my favorite color, yellow as #yellowoftheday. A hashtag that I like to claim as my own, haha. If only you knew how much yellow I have in my life, from my clothes to my car. It’s everywhere. I like to think of myself as the yellow rose of Texas. A yellow rose means joy, friendship, promise of a new beginning, and remember me, which is something I strive to achieve with my photography.

I’m doing these InstaUpdate posts monthly so that my clients and readers know I have a life besides photographing weddings and documenting amazing people!

If you want to actually follow my Instagram…my username is @akarosebud.  (Why is that my username? Rose is my last name…Rosebud is one of my many nicknames. I remember when I was a child, my mom would wake me up for school and sing to me ,”wake up little rosebud”. AKA = also known as…so that’s why!)

My boyfriend, Philip and I really enjoy attending shows and concerts. When we got back from Oklahoma in early September, we went to go see our friends awesome band, RTB2

One Friday evening we were invited by Philip’s uncle to go to Dallas to the House of Blues to see the band, Two Gallants.

It was a good, intimate show.

I photographed a wedding at a pretty challenging venue…I wasn’t allowed on the floor at all. I was going to have my second shooter pretend to be “Uncle Bob” in the audience…but he got busted. We had to work WAY WAY WAY in the back on a balcony. I felt a bit out of my element since I was unable to work too close to document those emotions.

I was crossing the street at night and found the most random finds…a bible and a VHS laying side by side. A great movie actually. Keep your eyes peeled, you never you what you may find.

This is our apartment. All nice and clean, yet overwhelming with stuff and decor…we need a bigger place. My boyfriend and I prepared an awesome meal for some visiting friends. They had some exciting news for us so we had to celebrate!

My boyfriend had Tuesdays off for a while so we started something called “Carson Tuesdays”. Carson is Philip’s 3 year old nephew. I love this little dude and Philip is such a wonderful uncle. We went out for ice cream.

Then we went to the antique store. How cool is this little guy?

I’m still a student in college…graduating this Fall (ugh I cannot wait). But I was interested in an old school process called Van Dyke, an alternative photographic process.

I tried a simple hairstyle I’ve never tried again…the bowbun.

Philip and I went to a discgolf course that had a uniquely shaped tree.

Philip is really awesome at this sport.

After shooting a wedding…I find it relaxing to wind down by the fire with some good friends. I also tried a new style of packaging a thumbdrive full of wedding pictures for my clients. But I’m not sure if I’ll keep it this way for long.

We enjoyed another “Carson Tuesday”. We had a picnic under a big tree and it was a beautiful tree. But as we were feasting under the tree, a crazy squirrel tried to pelt us with pecans he’d been gnawing on. It was gross.

October’s InstaUpdate is coming soon…this past week and a half have been super tough as I lost one of my best friends due to a car accident. So things have been pretty hard.

Alex and Lucky have been deeply in love with each other for 11 years so far. They dated throughout high school and attended the same university together. You could say that the game of football has been a huge part of their relationship. Lucky was involved with football throughout high school and continued to play on his college football team. Alex had always been there to support and cheer him on.

After graduation, Alex went to work while Lucky went back to their old high school to coach the football team. This is a secret dream job for Alex, but at least her love gets to live that dream.

Alex and Lucky agree that they are the best teammates. Their little nephew always tells them a simple phrase, “Best Friends. Same Team. Forever”. While they don’t know where he got this saying, it has become a sort of tagline for this amazing couple.

I had a blast photographing your wedding! You guys know how to throw one heck of a party! I wish you all a lifetime of happiness!

Kathryn waited many years to get married and God matched her with someone she never thought she’d be matched with. The years of waiting for the right man to come along have been worth it.

I had to get my eyes checked.

Philip and I drove to my favorite place that my family and I do every year…Fredericksburg, TX!

After we got to the hotel, Philip shaved his whiskers.

Fredericksburg contains some interesting folk. Philip was complimenting this guy about this rad ride.

We picked up some goodies in Fredericksburg! I love these sconces because they came from different finds! But they look like they go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Grilled some amazing corn with friends.

I got a new pair of eyes.

I was teaching Carson, Philips 3 year old nephew, how to play the ukulele. He was picking it up quite well!

I kicked butt at foosball.

After months and months of thinking about it, I finally decided to get braces! Clear bracket braces.

I just LOVE hanging with this little guy!

Another yearly tradition my family does is go to Tuskahomma, OK for the Choctaw labor day festival. Our first night we stayed at the Choctaw Casino in Durant. This is the view from our room!

I love the architecture and lights…the lights change!

On to the next destination…in gold sparkly shoes!

Heck yeah! Although hard to devour with braces.

Oklahoma has some serene drives.

Our final hotel…was dull. My parents and my boyfriend and I stayed in a room pretty much smaller than my kitchen…and I have a small kitchen. And it smelled like Orange clean. I loved the old school motif though.

Seeing buffalo is so…tranquil. They are some powerful, ancient looking creatures!
